Buck and his girls These are our LGD working & breeding animals. They are all purebred Great Pyrenees. We are not a puppy mill or even a serious breeder. We are a working farm where we use around eight Great Pyrenees to protect our livestock along with one border collie to herd and a Corgi cross to drive the sheep. Like any other animals on a farm they partially pay their way by producing young to sell. So far only three of our pack have ever had puppies. We presently have a GREAT AKC registered male named BUCK. Buck is the leader of the pack giving us a litter a year until this spring when we had two at once. The pack works hard at patrolling to keep our livestock safe until they have pups. Then we take her out of the pack/service for 2-3 months to have and care for her pups. It isn't long till she starts taking her pups out on mini patrols and a few weeks later we have a few pups in training to protect your farm/ranch. Our moms have been Sasha, Peaches, and now Red. A Few shots of our dogs working hard. It is simply amazing how they "JUST KNOW" how to do their job. It has been breed into them by selective breeding for hundreds of generations. It is a crazy show but in it you will see how something like animal vocabulary (poults have a vocabulary in their DNA- they are just born with it) or livestock guarding is just in an animals DNA these dogs just know what to do as tiny pups. BUCK- daddy to our pups- showed us that at just under four months of age. We knew at that age he was the dog we needed to save this farm from financial ruin due to 90% losses of our livestock every year. We have not lost a single animal since he arrived on our farm.
